Via Loves Music, Loves to DanceSo, when I wake up (1pm), I see that I had a text from my mom in the morning (7am):
“Just want to say I love you guys…always pray and be safe at all…do not panic think clear…when you have the chance turn on TV for breaking news”
I checked the internet, facebook (everyone’s status), and then TV too. And what do I learn? The 8.9 Earthquake (GOSH THAT’S HIGH! I mean, if you were rating someone on how attracted you were based off of a 10 scale..that’s close to 9..which is 2nd to a perfect 10!) and Tsunami in Japan.
It’s very interesting that as I look out my window, the world seems quiet, calm, and fine. But just across the equator is just the opposite. What a huge contrast. And really depressing stuff- the very reason I try not to watch news. The past natural disasters I only found out about when I’d hear people talking about it at school or see posters for fundraisers for the cause. But, I’ve recently learned and realized, it’d be ridiculous not to keep posted with the world…for obvious reasons that I can’t remember at the moment (lol).
On the bright side, people will use their teamwork skills, any animosity towards each other won’t be a priority feeling, and students can take a break from school there (lol)- in fact, not only across the equator, but here too people will come together! Now, isn’t that a wonderful thought? People helping one another.
(Remember the Black Eyed Peas- “Where’s the Luv?”… =] and the part in the chorus that says “Where’s the love y’all? I don’t know.” The IDK answer doesn’t seem valid at times like these because the love is all around.)
After arriving home from school around 9pm and after I ate dinner, I was supposed to do my homework. And I was serious about it…but you know how that works- it didn’t work out. Why? Because I was stalling by checking my e-mail and having a quick minute on facebook. Then, I joined my sis and mom, who were watching Grey’s Anatomy on Netflix, just to chill with family (my sister doesn’t really watch that show either- she was just there to enjoy the company of my mom). I brought my homework too. THAT WAS THE BIGGEST DISTRACTION! Both my sister and I was as hooked as my mom to the show. I didn’t even touch my homework. And now I’m stuck doing an all-nighter. Yay.
Awesome show though. The end of Season 6 was nuts!

My boyfriend took me here last night. It was his first time too. Unfortunately, didn’t think to take pictures, but found some online.
Details:
Fine Dining. French food. Located in Newport Beach where Fashion Island is situated (nice location to walk around after eating).
Wonderful ambiance. It’s dimly lit and there’s a bar for those who drink.

We had their Special Menu du Jour.
3-Course Prix Fixe. $18 per person.
We each got a meal. And as a complementary appetizer, they gave perfectly toasted sliced baguettes with their very own dip.
Meal 1:
1st Course- Salade Verte (Tasted fresh and the dressing was delicious and light)
2nd Course- Steak Au Poivre (filet mignon, mashed potatoes, steamed veggies)
3rd Course- Crème Caramel
Meal 2:
1st Course- Soup du Jour (that night it was Tomato Soup- never had it before but great first time experience)
2nd Course- Poisson du Jour (their special seafood for that night was Salmon)
3rd Course- Île Flottante (Never had a dessert like this before! Not too sweet compared to the Chocolate Mousse and it was very light. It looks like ice-cream but it’s almost like a marshmellow except not as thick. This picture isn’t the one from the restaurant but it’s as close as I can find. They give a few pieces of fruit and there is a net of caramel on top of the white part.)

Due to an accidental mishap (wrong dessert order) we were also able to taste Mousse au Chocolat (the third dessert they offerred in the menu)!
We thought it was funny because as we were waiting for our food, I had mentioned that I wanted to try all 3! I wanted the chocolate mousse because I love chocolate and mousse, but at the same time I wanted what I already ordered because I never heard of Île Flottante. In the end, we got the mousse! But I ended up loving the Île Flottante and didn’t really eat the mousse!

ROSE: Now you all know there was a man named Jack Dawson, and that he saved me, in every way that a person can be saved. I don’t even have a picture of him. He exists now only in my memory.
Top 100 Movies - Titanic (1997, dir. James Cameron)
